Published by Northwest Fisheries Science Center | National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Department of Commerce | Metadata Last Checked: December 20, 2025 | Last Modified: 2019-05-23T00:00:00.000+00:00
In a tri-coastal collaborative study, the population densities of vibrios are being determined in the Mississippi Sound, Puget Sound, Chesapeake Bay, and Timbalier Bay. Sea surface temperature (SST), salinity, pigments (including chlorophylls, fucoxanthins, and others), dissolved organic carbon, and suspended particulate matter will be measured and evaluated as predictors of vibrio densities in the context of multiple regression analysis. Concentrations of Vibrio parahaemolyticus in oysters, water and sediments. Temperature, salinity, chlorophyll, SPM, DOC and pigment analysis.
